Site update
Jul 31, 2003
I've modified some of the XHTML and CSS, the two columns are now juxtaposed in Internet Explorer 5 for Mac, as they should be. The culprit was the use of the style attribute "clear", which in IE 5 for Mac is wrongly inherited by child elements, mucking up all sorts of things.
The tab-menu is correctly positioned (within the top colored area) in all browsers I've been able to test it for, except Internet Explorer 5 for Mac, in which it is positioned directly underneath it. I use relative positioning to push the tabs up and into the top colored area, but for some reason Internet Explorer 5 for Mac, well, ignores this.
Since the stylesheets have been slightly modified, you might want to do yourself (or me) a favor by "super/shift" reloading this page (and thereby reloading the stylesheet and not just the XHTML).
As for the themes:
69% use the Charlock theme
9% use the Olive theme
8% use the Pacific theme
6% use the Carbon theme
4% use the Piquant theme
4% use the Burgundy theme
That so-and-so many "use" each theme is a bit misleading, these are hit percentages, I suppose it's possible that, for example, nobody uses Piquant and that the hits on it were registered when people tried it out, but ultimately chose an other.
Conclusions: most people either prefer the Charlock theme, don't know they can change the theme (at the bottom of the right side column), or don't care about themes to begin with.
A scarce few might also think I will do something devilish with the cookie information containing the name of the theme they've selected. They're right of course; you'd be surprised how many evil corporations bent on world domination that are interested in purchasing information on my theme usage statistics. Being a guy who takes pride in his integrity, I went with the highest bidder.
Fascinating meta-meta-information, right?
Comments
I 'use' the Olive theme.

Very nice site. Simple / Elegant.
No jarring graphics / no annoying whistles that dont work across browsers. The Tabs (Weblog / Archives /Colophon) are really nice. I have seen some similar stuff on simplebits.com.
Very usable site! Have you though of adding keyboard navigation?! That was a hot topic on ALA / Zeldman some time ago. Not sure.
Anyhow. Clean precise content. Great work!

Pushkar: Thank you, that's very nice of you, and constructive too. I know about keyboard navigation, but I haven't considered adding it.. maybe I should, after all. I'll read that ALA article again.

Tomas Charlock is the original - its the jogin.com 'look and feel'.
I think carbon is ok too, but Charlock is still the best imo.
