Sometimes it becomes painfully obvious why some people loathe weblogs. Right now is a time like that. Every blog I visit informs me that Mozilla Firebird has been renamed Mozilla Firefox. Gee, thanks guys, I had noo idea. And now I did it too, damn it.
Blogging gets old, you know. Not that I'd ever quit, I wouldn't. I couldn't. I do post less than I did before, mostly because I just don't feel like echoing what I've read elsewhere unless I feel I have something to add myself.
I don't know why I used to blog, but I'm certainly not, henceforth, going to be any peripheral vision impaired blogger's replacement for a proper technology news site. I'm not Slashdot. I'm also not into posting short entries. Or mindless rants.
This was not intentional. And, no, the irony is not lost on me.

When I wrote my entry on Firefox I knew I was just following everyone else. But I thought of the non-tech people I know personally who read my weblog and I want to convert them so that was my main reason for that entry. Some time back I wrote about the same subject of many weblogs having the same entry topic, so I try not to echo everyone else. But sometimes a big thing like Firefox deserves all attention.

"sometimes a big thing like Firefox deserves all attention."
(Well, I wanted to make a sarcastic comment but what's the use.)

Darice, and anyone else: Don't think I was criticizing you, or anyone else who wrote about Firefox, I wasn't. I myself have echoed these kinds of "important" news (to us anyways) plenty of times. It's just that times like these it's obvious why some people think blogging is such a waste of time, and (cyber)space.

Welp, newspapers usually depict the same news every day. And no one complains about that ;-)
I guess that the bloggers want to save their readers from scouring several other blogs to find out what's hot and what's not.

Tomas I know it was not a critique :) I understand what you mean even I have days that my whole RSS reader is full of the same news.
Bengt I have no idea what sarcastic comments came to your mind :) But yes I think Firefox deserves this attention, especialy if we want to get people using modern browser that supports web standards and doesn't have a security leak discovered every other week.
