Satire

  Mar 18, 2004

I could just link to this excellent example of lies and denial in the White House as a "contemporary link" in the side bar, but I think it deserves more attention than that.

First: read this short comic by Tom Tomorrow.

Second: watch this short clip (all you need to watch it is Flash).

The Bush administration has effectively killed satire.

  3. As long as I am alive satire will always be around. Oh and Jon Stewart too.

  4. You seem to care a lot about United States politics for someone who is not a citizen of our country. I'm glad to live in a country that has the guts to do something about the problems of the world (financially and when necessary, militarily), while it seems to me that with a few exceptions, the peoples of the rest of the world just like to complain. Keep complaining, and we'll keep *doing* something about the dangers present in our world.

  5. Erik: American politics, and especially the Bush administration's politics, affects the entire world.

Also, sometimes the goals don't justify any and all means.

Are these concepts really difficult to recognize, from an American perspective?

But, you're right though, no other country was as eager to meet the "imminent threat" that Saddam posed, as the US was. Good thing you got there in time to blog up Baghdad, who knows what Saddam might have done with all those stockpiles of ... uh.. wait.. stockpiles of what? Sand?
